Class Plan: Health and Fitness Vocabulary with Frequency Adverbs

**Level:** B1
**Topic:** Healthy Living and Exercises
**Materials Needed:** Video about a ballerina's daily routine, vocabulary list, frequency adverb chart

**1. Warm-Up (5 minutes)**

  • **Objective:** Activate prior knowledge and introduce the topic.
  • **Activity:**
  • Ask the student: "What do you think a ballerina's daily routine looks like?"
  • Encourage them to share any thoughts or experiences related to health and fitness.
  • Write down key vocabulary they mention on the whiteboard.
**2. Vocabulary Introduction (10 minutes)**

  • **Objective:** Introduce and practice health and fitness vocabulary.
  • **Activity:**
  • Present a list of vocabulary related to health and fitness (e.g., exercise, diet, nutrition, flexibility, strength training, ballet, routine, warm-up, cool down).
  • Use images or definitions to explain each term.
  • Ask the student to repeat the words and use them in sentences.
**3. Frequency Adverbs Review (10 minutes)**

  • **Objective:** Review frequency adverbs and their usage.
  • **Activity:**
  • Introduce frequency adverbs (e.g., always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, never).
  • Provide examples of sentences using these adverbs in the context of health and fitness (e.g., "I usually exercise in the morning.").
  • Ask the student to create their own sentences using the vocabulary and frequency adverbs.
**4. Video Viewing (10 minutes)**

  • **Objective:** Observe and analyze a ballerina's daily routine.
  • **Activity:**
  • Share the video about a ballerina's daily routine.
  • Instruct the student to pay attention to the activities she does and any health and fitness vocabulary they recognize.
**5. Discussion and Comprehension Check (10 minutes)**

  • **Objective:** Discuss the video and reinforce vocabulary and adverb usage.
  • **Activity:**
  • Ask the student questions about the video, such as:
  • "What activities does the ballerina do every day?"
  • "How often does she practice?"
  • "What does she eat to stay healthy?"
  • Encourage the student to use frequency adverbs in their responses.
**6. Wrap-Up and Homework (5 minutes)**

  • **Objective:** Consolidate learning and assign practice.
  • **Activity:**
  • Summarize the key vocabulary and frequency adverbs learned during the class.
  • Assign homework: Write a short paragraph about their own daily routine using at least five vocabulary words and three frequency adverbs.
